Travel Logistics
The following information will help you plan your travel to and from the La Biagiola International School of Archaeology (BISA).
BISA
Arrival and Departure Locations
BISA is located in the municipality of Sorano (GR) in southern Tuscany, approximately 160 Kilometers (100 miles) northwest of Rome.
On the day of arrival (typically the first Friday of a session), BISA staff will pick up all participants in the beautiful and ancient town of Pitigliano in the Province of Grossetto.
The closest and most convenient airport is in Rome, Fiumicino Leonardo da Vinci (FCO).

Participants must arrange their own travel to and from Pitigliano.

Suggested Itinerary
We suggest that all participants fly to ROME. To assist with overcoming jet lag, please consider spending at least one night in Rome.
- From Rome, take a train to ALBINIA.
A good app for purchasing train tickets is Omio. - From Albinia, take a bus to PITIGLIANO.
The Autolinee Toscane (AT) is the bus service in Tuscany. They also have an app.
Passports and Visas
Citizens of countries outside the Eurozone are required to carry a passport that is valid for at least six months following the date of their arrival in Italy.
No Visa is required to enter Italy for a stay shorter than 90 days.
